Overview
Greco-Breda addressed a fragmented Milanese site shaped by an unsafe underpass, missing services, traffic, neglected green space, and weak connections to Parco Nord. The proposal combined new housing with pedestrian and bicycle links, shared landscapes, orchards, public programs, passive design, renewable energy, and water- and waste-management strategies. The project received second place in the 17th Laure Larouze Sustainable Built Environment Study Award. Reconnection is the central idea: isolated pieces of infrastructure and open space become a diverse, permeable, and accessible district.
